Mad About the Parts of Speech
This week third grade students are practicing the parts of speech, including singular and plural nouns, adjectives, present and past tense verbs, and adverbs. They are using a "Mad Libs" type web page called Wacky Web Tales. Students fill in the blanks and the web shows them their story.

The 50 States
After six weeks of work, the fourth grade web page project for this year is up! Each student researched, wrote, illustrated, typed, and formatted a web page about one of our states. Click here to go to the main page and then click on the links to see the different pages. I am really proud of the kids, especially how hard they all worked!

Book Apps
I love to read books, but my purse is not big enough to take them everywhere. It wouldn't even hold an ereader if I happened to own one. I do have an iPhone, though. With the free Kindle and iBooks apps I can take books with me everywhere. I don't read new books on it. I like the feel of books and being able to look at my bookmark and see what fraction of the book I have read. I do like to reread the free classics on my iPhone. I have now read books by Alcott, Austin, Burnett, and Dickens while waiting at the doctor's office, drive thru, and hair salon.
